Music City Blind Golf Classic
The 1st Annual Music City Blind Golf Classic was held in Nashville on October 14-17, 2004. Schenk Photography had the profound pleasure of participating in the Corporate Scramble on October 15 at Legends Golf Course in Franklin, TN.
For the Corporate Scramble, 28 sighted teams had the opportunity to play 18 holes with 9 blind golfers. What started out a rainy, cold morning, turned into a beautiful afternoon. The 5x7 photo, with Music City Blind logo and event details was a complimentary gift to golfers, courtesy of sponsor Ming Wang.
To maximize time, and print photos on-site for the afternoon awards ceremony, photographers started on the 18th hole and moved backward through the field. Photographing all the teams takes about 2 hours and printing takes approximately 1 hour. Photographers are discreet and sensitive to the protocol of the game.
Proceeds from the Scramble benefit The Junior Blind Golf Program at the Tennessee School for the Blind, and Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital in the name of Gabe Sipos. Gabe is a 2 year-old cancer survivor with rhabdomyosarcoma, a cancer of the soft tissue. For more information about Gabe, please visit www.gabesmyheart.com.
