Dr. Cary Harbrecht Memorial Golf Tournament

A waiting list formed of players anxious to play in the fifth annual Dr. Cary Harbrecht Memorial Golf Tournament on July 11, 2005.    Thirty-seven teams played in the tournament, which is the Lebanon/Wilson County Chamber of Commerce's only annual fundraiser.   Held at prestigious Five Oaks Country Club on the day that tropical storm Dennis blew through Middle Tennessee, the tournament created a flurry of it’s own.   Storms held off most of the day, challenging players with gusty winds and dark skies.

Schenk Photography together with Manus Consulting and Design sponsored the 5x7” team photos given to each player.  Sponsors also received prints of their displays. 

Just moments after we took the group photo of team 8A, Dr. Jeffery Hazelwood swung for a hole-in-one.   He was sufficiently excited just to make the rare shot.  But in the minutes that followed, Hazelwood found out that he had just won a 2005 Cadillac from Lebanon Cadillac, a 6 person spa from Hot Springs Spas, as well a trip to Las Vegas.

We were thrilled to be on the 13th hole to photograph Dr. Hazelwood’s excitement and to document the monumental event.   The story ran on the cover page of the Wilson Post, with photo credit byline: Photos courtesy of David Schenk, Schenk Photography.
